WebGL modelling tool for 3D printing

When he received his Thing-O-Matic 3D printer, Benjamin Nortier decided to take a look at what modelling software options were available. He found that software solutions were either very costly professional products, or optimized for rendering much more than modelling, or non-user-friendly freeware with limited features.
What he was looking for was open source parametric software offering variables – in order to build complex models and adapt them by changing a single variable – and with a productive user interface.
He has developed a tool that aims to be
– Accessible: must be open source and work within a Web browser
– Powerful: must use BRep (boundary representation) to represent solids
– Modern: must feature a RESTful API so as to be integrated with other systems and enable innovation.
