3D Printing for the Car Industry – an Audi Example

3D printing is usually said to be a great technology for prototyping and building parts of cars. Audi is among these luxury cars’ brands who use 3D printing to build important final parts of the car. They are not only using 3D printers for prototyping, but also for producing the complicated parts you use in your car every day.

In this video (in German), Audi shows the building of various well-known parts of the car made from an Objet 3D printer (the Eden500V) using PolyJet technology (3D printing with photo polymerization).

It is a great example of 3D printing used for building final parts combining different materials.
