As you probably know, we’re launching this week our new laser cutting and engraving service. It is available in a beta version, for you to explore, test and improve with your feedback. We are impatient to see what you’ll do with the large range of possibilities laser cutting and 3D printing offer when combined together into our online interface. Because we got inspired, and in order to inspire you, we conceived and built a beautiful Pyramid that uses both techniques and 30 of the more than 60 material options we offer for laser cutting.

And we’re offering 50 of those Pyramids to you!

It’s a reproduction of the Maya Temple of Kukulcan, from Chichen Itza, entirely designed by one of our engineers. Its base, the steps, and the cap that holds it all together are 3D printed in black polyamide. The ten layers in the center are laser cut, and made of 30 different materials (varieties of our 4 main materials: plywood, cardboard, acrylic and MDF). The Pyramid is colorful, elegant and it comes apart so you can handle each of the layers. It’ll enable you to experience the different textures, play with the layers and make the materials and the laser’s rendering your own. The perfect object to get familiar with our new offer, to choose a color and texture for your next projects, or just to have on your desk as a display of your enthusiasm for Laser Cutting by Sculpteo.
