Sculpteo officially joins the 3D Prod group, marking a major step forward for industrial additive manufacturing in Europe. This acquisition brings together two complementary French companies with a shared vision: offering a complete manufacturing solution, from rapid prototyping to industrial-scale production.

The merger combines Sculpteo’s expertise in online manufacturing and industrial 3D printing with 3D Prod’s industrial production capabilities and injection molding expertise through Platex. Together, the new group aims to create a stronger and more agile manufacturing partner for companies across Europe and internationally.

A strategic move in a rapidly growing market

The global 3D printing market is evolving quickly, with a value estimated at $24 billion in 2025 and expected to double within five years.

To answer this growing demand, Sculpteo and 3D Prod are combining their strengths to offer customers expanded production capabilities, more manufacturing technologies, and broader industrial expertise.

The new group now represents:

  • 100 employees
  • €17 million in combined revenue, with a target of €20 million by 2027
  • More than 1.25 million parts produced annually
  • Over 7,000 corporate clients worldwide
  • One of the world’s largest fleets of HP Multi Jet Fusion 3D printers

This acquisition also marks the return of Sculpteo to French ownership after joining BASF New Business GmbH in 2019.

Two complementary areas of expertise

One of the key strengths of this merger is how complementary both companies are.

3D Prod brings strong industrial production expertise, finishing capabilities, and experience in plastic injection molding through Platex. Sculpteo contributes its digital manufacturing platform, design expertise, international customer support, and advanced additive manufacturing workflows.

Together, the two companies now cover the entire manufacturing value chain, from functional prototyping and small-batch production to large-scale industrial manufacturing.

According to Alexandre d’Orsetti, CEO of Sculpteo:

“Combining the offerings of both companies will give customers access to a broader portfolio of materials and services, delivering an even more comprehensive industrial 3D printing solution.”

What this means for customers

For customers, this acquisition means access to a more complete manufacturing ecosystem while keeping the same trusted Sculpteo experience and digital tools.

Sculpteo customers will continue benefiting from instant online quoting, engineering expertise, industrial-quality production, and worldwide shipping. At the same time, they will now gain access to expanded production capacities, additional finishing solutions, and stronger support for series manufacturing projects.

The merger also strengthens the group’s ability to support companies at every stage of product development, whether they are startups, SMEs, or large industrial organizations.

A long-term industrial vision

The group’s strategy will develop in two phases. First, the focus will be on combining operational strengths and optimizing production and commercial synergies between both companies. The objective is to better support customers from prototype to production while continuing expansion in Europe and North America.

Starting in 2027, the second phase will focus on investment and industrial growth, including equipment upgrades, expanded production capabilities, recruitment, and accelerated series manufacturing.

Quentin Kiener, President of 3D Prod, explains:

“With this merger, we are giving ourselves the means to support the expansion of this sector by offering a complete range of services, from prototypes to large-scale production, to support French, European, and American manufacturers at every stage of their development.”

This new chapter also comes with an expanded industrial offering. By combining the expertise, technologies, and production capabilities of both companies, Sculpteo and 3D Prod now provide a broader range of manufacturing solutions to support customers from prototyping to large-scale production.

Building the future of digital manufacturing

This acquisition represents more than a company milestone. It reflects a broader ambition to strengthen European industrial manufacturing and accelerate the adoption of additive manufacturing technologies worldwide.

By combining digital manufacturing expertise with industrial-scale production capabilities, Sculpteo and 3D Prod are building a more complete manufacturing partner for the future one capable of supporting innovation from the first prototype to full-scale production.
