Characteristics
Our transparent resin is a high-performance photopolymer material designed for applications that require clarity, precision, and fine surface detail. 3D printed using stereolithography (SLA) technology, it offers excellent light transmission combined with high dimensional accuracy, making it ideal for visual prototypes, medical models, fluidic parts, and aesthetic components. After printing, the material can be post-processed with a varnish to achieve varying levels of transparency, from translucent to near-optical clarity, while maintaining good mechanical stability.
Our transparent resin offers excellent optical clarity, precision, and durability, making it a versatile material for a wide range of applications. From industrial components to consumer products, its unique properties allow designers and engineers to explore creative solutions wherever transparency is required. While the possibilities are nearly endless, a few illustrative examples include microfluidic devices, transparent windows in casings, and see-through packaging each demonstrating how the resin can combine functionality with visibility.
Microfluidic
Ideal for creating precise, clear channels and structures in lab-on-a-chip devices, enabling easy visual monitoring of fluids and reactions.
Transparent casing
Perfect for producing see-through sections or windows in otherwise opaque enclosures, allowing users to view internal components without opening the device.
Transparent packaging
Suitable for protective packaging that showcases the product inside, combining durability with full visibility for marketing or inspection purposes.
Beyond its optical clarity, this material also offers strong mechanical performance, making it well suited for durable, long-lasting finished products. With high tensile and flexural strength, good stiffness, and reliable impact resistance, it can withstand mechanical stresses encountered in real-world use. These properties make the transparent resin not only visually appealing, but also a robust choice for functional parts designed to perform over time.
The transparency of the material is directly influenced by part thickness: as thickness increases, light transmission decreases. For example, at a thickness of 2 mm, the material achieves a light transmission of approximately 85%, while at 10 mm thickness, light transmission is reduced to around 59%. This relationship should be taken into account during design to balance transparency requirements with structural needs.*
Light transmission @ 2mm = 85%
Light transmission @ 10mm = 59%

The light transmission values provided are indicative only and are based on data supplied by the material manufacturer. These values have not been independently tested or validated by Sculpteo and may vary depending on part geometry, surface finish, and processing conditions. The printing price of your design is calculated automatically the moment it is uploaded. As you modify your object (changing material, finishing, size, using batch control or hollowing feature, etc.) you will note that the price changes automatically. The pricing is based on a series of factors, including total volume, object size, and bounding box – to name a few.
Keep in mind that adding finishing will extend the processing time. The estimated shipping time is also calculated automatically as the object is uploaded and each time you make a modification on it. Delivery time should be added to processing time.

Our transparent resin is printed using SLA (Stereolithography) technology. This process relies on a UV laser that selectively cures liquid photopolymer resin layer by layer, solidifying it with high precision. SLA is particularly well suited for transparent materials, as it produces parts with fine details, smooth surfaces, and excellent optical clarity, making it ideal for both functional and visual applications.
