What is the State of 3D Printing?

Who are our respondents?

The survey we launch each year is open to everyone. From beginners to experts, anyone using 3D printing can answer it and share their experience with this technology. More than 70% of respondents use 3D printing at least a few times each month, showing they are quite familiar with the technologies.

This year, we had over 1300 respondents, coming from 65 countries, and working in 20 different industries. Thanks to all the people responding to our survey, we are able to make a great overview of how 3D printing technology is really used today.

What kind of data has been collected?

Additive manufacturing is always evolving, and several new applications are found each year, thanks to this report, you will not miss anything. The State of 3D Printing helps you to keep track.

This survey is asking questions about 3D printing use for every sector. What are the main advantages people are seeing while using additive manufacturing, how is it becoming a real part of their business strategy, what are the most used 3D printing technologies and materials?

We also made a section for 3D printing experts, called Power Users about their specific use of this technology. Their use of 3D printing is significant, and have they invested at least $10k in the 3D printing last year. This section focuses on their views and uses of this technology.

You will also find interesting data about some sectors where additive manufacturing is more and more used: industrial goods, consumer goods, and high tech. We also made a little comparison: is there a real difference between 3D printing uses in North America and Europe? You will discover it the report.
